How much more bw do MGP use?

How much more bandwidth do MGPs use? I know that one can have less clips than one would have thumbs on a TGP.

Just curious. Not yet ready for MGPs.

Depends on how often you gonna submit, how many clips, what size each clip and how many mgps you get listed at. A decent size gallery 3 X 1.5MB gallery with decent listings on many mgps could burn you between 5k-10k gigs/month or if you go per mbits 25-35 mbits/month. I would start with a 10 Mbit capped line (which equates to about 100 gig per day, I think). This should be enough to soak up 100k daily uniques to your galleries, assuming that your clips are 1.5k (or less) and your gals aren't massively heavy.

To be honest though, my gals are getting pretty graphic now and I'm using alot more BW than this. Sorry Seven :X

3 x 1.5MB is 4.5MB. Ok since I tgp gal is around 1 MB, this means that an MGP use 4.5 time more bandwidth.

Next question; how much better does an MGP convert than a TGP?

Converts better certainly but how much better will depend on your skills. If you don't have the right skills it may convert worse than a pic gallery. brb too many icq msgs
