How do you like these? :mecry: :crying:

I use Opera. It's totally brilliant. A real assett for pro-surfers.

Of course, you have to test your sites in IE. Or at least know the differences between the browsers.

I don't know anything about firefox tho. Is it any good?

Firefox is nice but you'll probably want to stay with Opera, which is easily the best browser I've ever used.

So why am I using IE 6?

Yes, I like the tab browsing it offers.

Firefox is starting to show up more than IE in my traffic logs.

I have Opera 7.54, but it was totally shot to hell for me. They should have left the previous design. I don't know, it turned me off. I keep it up-to-date though.

Yeah, I bought the new one but I went back to the old one. The new one didn't seem to offer anything new and looked worse. Oh well. I probably need to play with the settings some more.

you have to pay for opera? :eek7 i glanced over their features and it appears that opera and firefox share a lot of the same features. I like it, however, norton internet professional doesn't support it. so if i visit a site that requires my password, norton won't auto fill it for me. it has to "remember" all my passwords and log them which is a waste of time for me. but it does support flash which is what i was having issues with IE. flash just wouldn't show up at all.

Opera remembers and stores all user names and passwords. You just hit CTRL and ENTER and it enters the details and logs you in. No need to write them down, no need for another program.

It handles flash just fine and also seems to be immune to most spyware, hijackers and viruses. Built it download manager too :D Like I said, an absolute must for pro-surfers and webmasters. I just keep finding new ways to use it.

It has a free version too. It just has an a banner in the top right hand corner.

I use mozilla instead of firefox because firefox doesn't soundoff when it gets a popup.

I used Opera years ago but half the sites I went to didn't work with it so I went back to IE.

It wasn't Opera's fault though it was poor web designs because at that time Opera didn't autofix bad HTML the way IE does.

It was great for building your pages because you would know for sure if your html was correct or not.

I just wanted to say that I just downloaded Opera the free version and I must say its a browser on steroids :1orglaugh perfect for me! thanks Anne! :thumbsup You helped me find a great replace for Internet Exploder. Firefox sucks in comparison. It had been crashing a lot the past couple of days. not very stable :feels-hot

I think it's up there with advanced submitter and statsremote as the best webmaster tools. I love my tools :D

Now, I just need a decent email proggie so I can ditch microflaccid altogether. Is this thunderbird thing any good?

I've started using thunderbird and I like it.

No problems yet but I don't have massive folders and mailboxs on it yet so I'll have to see.

chameleon rocks! i use it for my tgping. as for mgping, i use advanced submitter. it auto fills everything but allows me to "hand submit" . that allows for me to make sure the info is correct

chameleon handles hand submissions too. any other advantages of using advanced submitter?

oh i know. my movie database is on advanced submitter. i found it easier to manually add new movie sites to advanced submitter than it is to do so with chameleon. other than that.. i cant think of anything else

Advanced Submitter is better for hand submitting IMO.

Basically they are both great so long as you are prepared to work hard on the database side of things.

They both do almost exactly the same thing but I feel the AS has some more flexibility.

thank you both for your good advice and for sharing your opinions! it's just occurred to me that chameleon's database might be missing some major tgp's - i'm going to recursively search through the major tgps and their trades to ensure i have them all! also, might try advanced submitter shortly too! thanks again! :D

there may be a reason why some major tgps aren't listed in the chameleon database. they dont want to be included.

yeah, that's what i was thinking. i only just noticed that dangerdave isn't even listed in the chameleon database anymore, now he requires password access to the submit form! i imagine i'm going to find a few like this! oh well, perhaps then my database will be a good trade for AnneT's mpg database! :D
