well PeterLuke, now that godaddy.com is back up for you, i strongly suggest you don't ever use their domain grabbing service. unless of course you'd like them to take your money, snaffle the domain for you, keep it for themselves, and finally to try sell it to you at a negotiated price!

can't be bothered going into all the details but i've had this experience with them with smut-peddler.com, which i backordered at the same time i registered smut-peddler.net. :feels-hot

I was wondering about that backorder option.
Guess i'll not be useing it then!! :(
And dam it theres a couple domains that I have been watching that are expired and I was wanting to grab them

hey Itchy!

you're probably better off taking your chances and waiting for the domains to be re-released. i wouldn't let godaddy know you're interested else they'll likely sneak around behind you too! ouch! ;)

I keep hearing horror stories about people having problems with GoDaddy. Honestly, I was seriously thinking about transfering all my domains to somewhere else. I already have a few with NameCheap.com and I'm pleased with their service so I think that will be my choice.

BTW, GoDaddy is down again for me

Do you personally have any problems with GoDaddy? Just curious.
Whatever may be your reasons though, NameCheap is a very good choice ;)

yeah, just the one i mentioned above, where i paid godaddy for a backorder, they snaffled the domain for me, kept it for themself, and finally tried to sell it to me for a negotiated price!

if you mean connectivity problems, no. :)

currently, i've gotten my domains from 3 different registrars: most of them are at domain name systems, a few at go daddy and 1 at network solutions :disgust

i plan on putting all of them at one registrar like maybe name cheap. is that a bad idea? has anyone had experience transfering a domain from network solutions to another?

Not a bad idea at all Pookie. Especially for the NetSol domain... damn, I can't believe they're still charging $35/year

I've never had any problems with godaddy and I've read where others haven't had problems either.

Mind you all I do is buy a domain and thats it. No backordering or anything else.
