How many sponsor links on galleries

Should I use:

2 Sponsor links
2 Sponsor links + a link to a hub
3 Sponsor links

I'm new to TGP submissions so not yet familiar with the standard rules and route of least resistance. So any help is appreciated :)

that will vary from one tgp to another.

some tgp owners may be more apt
to flex on their rules for unique content
and allow a bit more.

otherwise take an average for rules you have read
or surf what you know is not paid for listings
as those rules will prolly be looser than free spots

then again
most tgp owners and linklist owners are anal
and
all of them
only care about you pleasing their worthless bookmarkers
and not you making any money.

personally I would use 2 links that goto
fpa's that have exit consoles, unless the tgp owner
is so anal they check those links (ala the hun). in that case I would
use a fpa with no console that links to another (as in
a second choice for the surfer if they don't want the first,
or use money bar links to fpa's)
with consoles that lead to a fake tgp or similar.

you could and I would link the first fpa straight to the join
page (if your sponsor doesn't allow this then they are anal).

it's extra work but the best benefit (and an advantage way over
the average submitter) is with a bit of basic seo on those pages,
not only will your tgp traffic hit them but in time a bit of search
traffic will as well.

lastly and sadly, when I look for new sponsors and I still
do fairly often, I look for fpa's and damn few offer any
but rather follow the crowd and give away their members
area in the form of free hosted galleries, sites and blog bullshit.
but you can take a free hosted gallery, eliminate the pics
or at least eliminate the full size pics and create the
fairly decent fpa that way.
no point in giving away full size pics once they click off
your gallery. actually no sense in giving them away ever
except on a tour imho.

What about just linking straight through to the sponsors site/tour? Thats what I have been doing with freesites.

linking to the tour is fine if (in my opinion)
if any one of the tour pages compliments or
is just plain better than your fpa and is a recurring
payout sponsor with no entrance console,
no cross sales and you get at least a portion
of any exit consoles.

if your sponsor provides click stats from one
page to the next, that will be a good indication
if you would want to link directly to any of those
pages compared to just linking to page 1 of the tour.

in the case of pay per signup sponsors, most will
more than likely not allow linking to join or other pages.
the reason for that should be obvious as it's near mathematically
impossible for established pay pers signup programs to truelly
make the payouts offered without some sort of shave
and
is totally mathematically impossible for any new pay per signup
program unless they have an ungodly amount of cash to cover
the losses they will sustain over the first year or more.
most do not
but
do offer all sorts of kewl contest and prizes to suck you in.

the exception is a scant few well run, well established
or very unique recurring sites/programs.

I don't like exit consoles, i believe they do more harm than good ie. if your sponsor site is any good. also exit consoles are highly ineffective these days anyways since everybody and their grandpas got free popup blockers installed. just to see any site tried to pop consoles could piss your surfers off. also suppose your surfer is a little confused whether to join your sponsor site or not now the site popped another site just so he could be even morer confused about which site to join chances are more he won't join either than he joins either. i got bookmarks to my tours from hell.. these bookmarks eventually turn into signups. 50%+ of my everyday signups are from bookmarks to the tour. i'd be losing much of these signups by using consoles. btw, i'm not talking outta my ass either I tried with and without consoles on tour and ofcourse no console won 2 thumbs up.

now, using 2 links.. I used to use 2 links to the sponsor and 1 to the hub in past. worked well but then the tgps started to get picky about the link to the hub so I started using 2 or 3 links to the sponsor only. you get couple extra signups when you don't use a link to a hub so it pretty much works out to be the same.

PPS sponsors will shave you one way or the other. If not direct shave then they'll do a legit alternate shave ie. no cookie suport or cookie life 1 hour, some simply won't give you credit if signup from your refer cancels in 12 hours after signing up, others won't give you credit until the signup converts to full month. Now, you may also have same probs with recur sponsors too but less also many recur sponsors don't recur too good so you may end squaring 1 unless you find yourself good recur sponsors then again, good recurs are almost always overprompoted with few exception when webmasters just don't know a sponsor site is good or his sites are highly niched.. niched sites work well cos majority webmasters like promoting hardcore sites specially hardcore sites with exclsuive content leaving you to promote thye niched sites.
