I wonder why most Floridians don't construct their houses out of reinforced concrete? That's what most of us in Puerto Rico have been doing for the past three decades.

It can't be the cost because a wood framed house is more expensive--wood is more expensive than concrete. I see more concrete houses being built every day. Can't say the same for wood housing.

brick houses are more expensive to build than wooden houses dunno why.. prolly cos for a wooden house you use good lumber for framework which is a bit pricey not sidings which are relatively cheaper.

I think the cost is the labor of stacking and cementing one brick at a time.
