There was a time when my IE browser was able to see flash on the screen. Now it doesn't. I've tried downloading flash on macromedia.com but it wont even download. I do have flash player 6 so i tried installing that but it wont install into the IE plugins folder. it works fine on netscape but IE is my main browser. what do i do?

Do you have ActiveX disabled? Cause I think that IE needs that for the flash plug-in.

Go here and download these uninstallers.

Not sure which version you have? Download both and try them, first with version 6 and then version 7. Reboot after you do this, just to make sure the changes take.
Boot up and then go to a website with flash, like http://www.discovery.com/, and allow IE to auto-download and install a new copy.

i really dont know what i was doing that caused flash not to work. although i do suspect it was when i reinstalled norton internet pro the 2nd time around. because before that, it worked fine.

I had not re-installed flash since the last time I re-installed the OS 2 or 3 months ago. This morning I tryed installing it and it didn't work. I could figure why. Eventually I lowered my security setting (temporarily) and that fixed my problem. I had security set so that unsigned drivers or stuff would not install. I temporarily set it so that it would prompt with a warning. After that I was able to install and then reset my security the way it was.
:D Guess I'm one paranoid bastard.
Is Norton Internet pro a firewall or other kind of security device? Is that that may have been your problem.

You might want to try installng the flash 7 plugin directly thru the microsoft windows updates. That should do the trick, I would think. By the same token, you should also be sure that you have all the critical and suggested Windows updates installed.
Oh yea...Hi everybody! http://tgpsrule.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
