Oh, I dunno.....I think if perhaps the admin would have been more interested in allowing his partners to maybe gain paid advertisers, as well as creating tutorials and such, rather than focusing on sponsor-bashing and who or who NOT to allow/ban so much, SB could have been quite the place....wouldnt you agree Martin?

Since admin can't alter my post anymore think i can speak my mind now. I don't think any board run by a gloomy gus could ever be a success. If you are a failure in the business yourself how would you expect anyone to follow what you say? Follow you to where? Gutter? I personally believe SB could have been quite a place ONLY and ONLY if Martin ran it by himself. Til today I don't understand why the heck Martin had to partner with him. Not like he was some hot hanchos in the biz that Martin couldn't do without. He was a nice guy personally but not a material to make any board financially successful. Actually I know many nice guys who could not make a board a success like my neighbor Phil for instance.. very nice guy but complains just about anything and everything on earth and keeps reminding me of buffd, the Saddam Hussein of s-b board :D
So.. will I be able to make this board a success? Frankly, so far I'm not being able to make enough time for this board cos this is only a fraction of what I do also I don't give a flying fuck if it's a success or not. It would be nice if it is but this is only a nice hangout for myself not to mention I take pleasure in helping anyone I could including toyteen affiliates (I actually see # of lurkers visiting here now everyday would be nice if they participated but atleast they maybe learning something since they lurk around for pretty long). I do not depend on this board to make a living nor will I ever depend on or hope to depend on it for a living very much unlike buffd.
It's kinda like our high traffic tgps/mgps.. it's all about fun and game and some little business :)

Every other board had an agenda of some sort, and WAS/IS there to promote certain sponsors. Sure, on some of them you could get questions answered, but not really like you could on SB...and that was because Martin, you, etc. hung out and were willing to share.
So now, maybe you are taking that to the next level, but hey...give credit.....

Prob with leo is often time he just doesn't wanna do something until he just has to. I believe Nelson been pushing him to get a webmaster board for a while but he just didn't wanna do it until s-b died. He used to hang out on s-b and disagree with admin all day could have just gotten his board long time ago and do things his own way. Honestly thou, I never encouraged him into getting a board either cos he already had so much to do, already had a proggy he could expand instead which would be much more profitable than a board for fun and killing time :eek:

Exactly my point. You NEED to have an agenda of some sort. You need to promote certain sponsors. Better yet, you are a sponsor yourself or atleast own a major site/freesite on the net so your members can trust you better/can think that you have accomplished something in this biz and your advices are worth paying attention to. Otherwise, every other ho-jo can open up a board running on a free script, good intentions fine but wouldn't bring money in anyone's pocket. Even worse if you are as pessimistic as admin was.. if you just keep saying there's no sponsor worth promoting, adult is a sinking industry would take you nowhere.. or should I say take you to a closed webmaster board ;)
Now, despite how much you loved s-b it's not about bashing s-b, it's about telling it the way it was.. which s-b thou even claimed to do but in reality admin would EDIT my posts for telling it the way it was.
I stayed on that board as long as I did for people like yourself, Martin, li'lb and all and never cos of admin or his pessimism. I'm just happy I still have my favorite people within and non-favorites without :D

I have to admit that this board certainly does look like it's going places.
I wasn't surprised at all when adminb left the biz.
He was so pessimistic about it I often wondered why he was even in the biz to begin with.

To be frank, I'm appalled by some of the posts in this thread; not so much those from the likes of seven and Martin, but most certainly the harsh words posted by those who, like me, took more from S-B than we contributed. If in hindsight you feel that S-B wasn't the resource that you needed, put it behind you and make the most of this one; but quit the bitching about someone who offered help and advice, which most of us took without a word of thanks.
... and it's time that people forgot about S-B.com and moved forward.
Now that I've said all that I couldn't on s-b cos of sensorship, we can definitely move on. Lets get back to trhater bashing shall we? :D
